Why MSG
If you’re reading this page, you’re probably weighing your options. Maybe you’re at a large firm doing compliance or audit work and wondering whether there’s something more intellectually engaging out there. Maybe you’re already in litigation support and want a place where your analysis actually matters to the outcome of a case. Either way, here is what you should know about working at MSG.
We are a boutique financial litigation support firm in Midtown Manhattan. Our team of approximately ten professionals provides business valuation, forensic accounting, and economic damages analysis exclusively for attorneys in complex litigation involving shareholder disputes, matrimonial actions, commercial damages, lost profits, and breach of fiduciary duty expanding across a wide range of industries and fact patterns. No two engagements are the same.
Every member of our team has a meaningful role in every engagement. There is no bench-warming and no busywork. Analysts work directly on high-stakes financial matters from day one; building models, reviewing financial records, drafting sections of expert reports, and preparing exhibits. You will collaborate directly with attorneys who are relying on your analysis to support their cases in court.
Mark S. Gottlieb, the firm’s founder and practice leader, personally oversees every engagement. He has delivered expert testimony more than 100 times in federal and state courts and has spent over 35 years doing this work at the highest level. That experience is not abstract; it shapes how the team approaches every assignment. Team members learn the craft of valuation, forensic analysis, and expert communication from someone who has been doing it for decades and who teaches it at Fordham Law School. That kind of direct mentorship is rare in today’s business environment.
You will also get early exposure to the litigation process itself, including depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. Strong writing and communication skills matter here as much as technical ability, because our clients are attorneys and judges who expect clear, defensible analysis. We value intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, and a professional demeanor. The position is fully in-office at our Midtown Manhattan location at 1270 Avenue of the Americas.
