NYS Senate Approves Legislation To Permit No-Fault Divorce with the Honorable Sondra Miller

Longtime Opponents of No-Fault Divorce May Have An Uphill Battle

On June 15th, 2010, the New York State Senate approved legislation that would permit no-fault divorce. This package must still pass the State Assembly.

It has been over 40 years since the first no-fault divorce law was signed by Gov. Ronald Reagan, and New York is the last state to consider such legislation. However, longtime opponents of no-fault divorce include the Catholic Church and the NY Chapter of the National Organization for Women.  As you can imagine, there are very passionate opinions on both sides of the issue.

In this broadcast of Forensic Perspectives, forensic accounting expert Mark S. Gottlieb discusses the no-fault divorce legislation with the Honorable Sondra Miller.
